During junior high school, I belonged to the soccer club. After entering high school, I casually went to check out the track-and-field club and ended up joining. I then entered Nihon University, which is renowned for its Hakone Ekiden road relay teams. My experience running in the Hakone Ekiden three times showed me the appeal of tenacious road running. Following university graduation I joined NTT West Japan, where I am training under Coach Shimizu. My dream is to wear the hinomaru flag in the marathon event.
