Leading NTT Towards "Connecting to the Future"
Creating innovations that will deliver new experiences and value

Today I have been appointed as President and CEO of NTT Corporation.

During the pandemic of the past two years, we have seen the rapid expansion of remote work models, the digital shift of social and economic activities, and new emerging technologies such as AI and data analytics that have increased the expectations of technology providers. At the same time, the global situation and business environment remain uncertain due to environmental changes, supply chain issues and the crisis in Ukraine.

Under these challenging circumstances, I will take on the transformation of the NTT Group's operations and business strategies that we have been working on by anticipating constant change and leading the way to position ourselves for the future. I believe that to deliver new experiences and high value to customers, the NTT Group must dynamically transform itself. We will do this based on the following three initiatives.

The first is to create better customer experiences (CX) through better employee experiences (EX).

We will build a business that creates new value, experiences, and excitement for our customers. We know that all enduring innovations come from focused, collaborative, and creative people. In order to achieve this, all employees and partners, including those in charge of product and services, research and development teams, and people who serve customers at all contact points, must work energetically together and take on any challenges while creating new opportunities. To this end, my goal is to create a culture where every employee can work with passion, commitment, and excitement towards a better future for themselves, their families, customers and society.

And I believe, like the NTT infinite loop message, my mission is to create a better employee experience (EX) that listens to the voice of people, customers, and society. This will help us create a better customer experience (CX) through continuous innovation - all in a sustainable infinite loop that benefits all.

The second goal is to decarbonize through technology.

We intend to achieve NTT Group's carbon neutrality by 2040 through significant reductions in power consumption through the development of IOWN, the development of renewable energy, the promotion of renewable energy storage facilities, the smart grid business, and the development of new decarbonization technologies.

The third is to connect infrastructure and critical IT systems to create greater value.

It is essential to strengthen plans to prepare for any large-scale disasters. It is also important to build a future infrastructure that is highly resilient, flexible, and scalable to create new digital business and personal experiences for our customers. We will strengthen the systems that continue to connect and support communications and computing infrastructure. And developing and investing in new skills, human resources, and advanced technologies will enable us to create critically important business systems. By doing this, we can create a connected and better future for all people and society.

Our mission remains the same as our current one - we will be a company that solves social issues through our business operations. In addition, five years from now, we will transform ourselves to enhance our capabilities from a company that connects communications systems to a company that connects technology and data to create new experiences, new value, and a better future. We will accelerate growth as a group by providing services to improve the business and lifestyles of our customers and by utilizing all types of new and emerging technologies.

We aim to be the NTT Group that connects us to a more innovative and better future.
