The NTT Group is a Pavilion Partner of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.
People have always been eager to connect with someone far away and to convey important feelings. For over 100 years, NTT has made these wishes come true through advances in technology.
At Expo 2025, we will use IOWN, which we plan to implement in 2030, to provide video and audio and to share perceptions of a distant location and the people and objects in that location.
By fully utilizing the NTT Group’s cutting-edge R&D technologies, we hope to showcase the potential for future experiences and communications that transcend the physical reality of distance and the psychological barrier of being apart.
In addition to our pavilion in the real world, we want a greater variety of visitors to enjoy a unique virtual experience in a more interactive manner at the virtual NTT Pavilion.
We are preparing the NTT Pavilion for visitors to experience a convenient and vibrant future facilitated by IOWN and for children, who will lead society 30 to 50 years from now, to enjoy an exciting experience.
Beyond telecommunications. The future society we dream of is just around the corner.
A gently and calmly floating pavilion.
It is open like a park, where greenery, light, the sky, visitors, wanderers, and diverse events share the same space.
The thread-like structures emit sound, and the fabric, shimmering in the wind, creates shadows that gently envelope people.
The thread-like structures vibrate in response to emotion and enthusiasm, and the entire pavilion stirs like a living organism with emotions.
The way people are, changes in nature, the subtleties of emotion, and digital behavior.
They are varied and yet one.
A structure in multiple forms clad in emotions.
We envision a pavilion that is like a new life form,
where the movement of visitors and their expressions stir the “small clumps“ covering the entire pavilion
as time and the seasons change.
We are planning to hold workshops with employees and children to create a “canopy” covering the pavilion in preparation for 2025. We are also devising ways to bring joy to and create memories for visitors during the Expo 2025.
If technology facilitates the infinite evolution of human beings,
then we humans must protect our precious planet.
We designed an environmentally friendly pavilion to achieve our “Green Vision Toward 2040.”
Three theaters are suspended from the tent-like structure with carbon wire to reduce the amount of steel used in parts like columns while also reducing CO2 emissions.
We aim to create a pavilion
that is welcoming to people and friendly to the Earth and that embodies a cyclic ecosystem.
