Tohoku University and NTT start new shared-vision-type collaborative research for promoting the resilient society against large-scale disasters

Tohoku University and NTT will start collaborative research using their combined strengths based on the shared vision "Fundamental technology to support safety for living". In the field of disaster prevention, mitigation response and recovery/reconstruction, we aim to contribute to the creation of new value and recovery from the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake.

The research themes to be tackled from this fiscal year are as follows.

[Theme 1]

Research on social problem-solving service-design method using earthquake archives.

[Theme 2]

Research on decision-making support method using real-time tsunami flood-damage prediction.

Regarding the above themes, we aim to implement new technology by 2021. By completing cooperation among researchers of both organizations, we plan to continue searching for new themes on same line with the vision.
