'totto', the Interview Robot.

Abstruct:

Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT; Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Jun Sawada) has developped dialogue technologies for interviews and applied them to 'totto'(*).

*'totto'is Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's android robot.

NTT's dialogue system uses knowledge obtained from large amounts of text data; its utterance generater learned the character of Tetsuko Kuroyanagi from her past broadcast interviews. The user can enjoy being interviewed in the style of Ms. Kuroyanagi.

  • Conducting interviews with users on a wide range of topics using neural networks.
  • Natural response with speech recognition and voice synthesis technologies.
  • Automatic generation of gestures according to the present dialogue, with high quality robot control that looks real.
