Candidacy for the post of Director of the Telecommunication Standardization Bureau, ITU

Tokyo Japan, September 1, 2021 --- Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) announces today that the Japanese government declared its support of the candidacy of Mr. Seizo ONOE, current Chief Standardization Strategy Officer of NTT, for the election of the next Director of the Telecommunication Standardization Bureau (TSB), International Telecommunication Union (ITU.) The voting will take place at the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2022 which will be held in Bucharest, Romania.

Mr. ONOE has played a leading role in both standardization and technology development in the mobile communication network industry. He has extensive experience in international standardization, been actively contributed and served as a Board member for organizations relevant to standardization, including NGMN (Next Generation Mobile Networks) Alliance and GSMA (GSM Association.)
