NTT Signed 10 Principles of the Charter of Trust (CoT)

NTT signed the Charter of Trust (CoT), 10 Principles of the global cybersecurity initiative on Feb 14, 2020, in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.

"As a global ICT consulting and managed service provider, we believe in the future of the digitalized society. We commit to contributing to resiliency build-up of the global cybersecurity, and aspire to join the "shapers" community rather than waiting for the industry to be shaped. Thus, we contribute to the global cross-industry collaboration such as the Charter of Trust," said Shinichi Yokohama, Chief Information Security Officer, NTT.

In February 2018, Siemens and eight partners from industry got together at the Munich Security Conference and created the world's first joint charter for greater cybersecurity. Two years since that signing, the Charter of Trust has grown to 17 members across Europe, Americas, and Asia*. Last year, the partners had already agreed on 17 specific minimum requirements for enhancing the security of their supply chains. The CoT partners also agreed to support training for questions related to cybersecurity - especially at small and mid-sized enterprises, which are increasingly finding themselves in the crosshairs of cyber-attacks.

As of Feb 2020, Siemens, the Munich Security Conference, AES, Airbus, Allianz, Atos, Cisco, Dell Technologies, Deutsche Telekom, IBM, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, NXP, SGS and TÜV Süd has signed the documents, where NTT and Infineon are joining. The Charter's work is further being supported by Germany's Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), the National Cryptologic Center (CCN), and Graz Technical University, as Associated Partners, to which the Hasso-Plattner-Institut für Digital Engineering GmbH (HPI) will join.
