NTT DATA Group
Representative Director and Senior Executive Vice President CFOKazuhiko Nakayama
The NTT DATA Group operates in over 70 countries and regions, with approximately 200,000 employees collaborating as a team. In 2025, we evolved our shared values, “Our Way,” and adopted the mission: “Accelerate client success and positively impact society through responsible innovation.” We also refreshed our “Values” by incorporating feedback from employees worldwide.
Our technological environment is changing significantly, including the expansion of data center operations and technological innovations, such as generative AI. In light of these changes, we revised our sustainability management materiality by gathering input from employees worldwide, unifying it under three pillars: “Planet Positive,” “Prosperity Positive,” and “People Positive.” Furthermore, starting in June 2025, David Costa, the Chief Sustainability Business Officer (CSBO) for overseas subsidiaries, was appointed as the overall sustainability leader to accelerate our projects.
In recent years, sustainability-related businesses have achieved remarkable growth and are becoming key growth drivers for our group. With overseas sales exceeding 60% of total sales, and over 75% of employees being foreign nationals, our business has evolved globally.
At this Sustainability Conference, diverse and advanced projects, such as co-creation examples addressing regional challenges in Japan, overseas projects reusing surplus heat from data centers and improving digital accessibility, and technologies enhancing the sustainability of cities themselves, can be applied to numerous social issues. I recognize that the sustainability business is expanding strongly throughout the entire group.
I sincerely appreciate all the group employees for their dedication and passion.
Together, we can have a greater impact on the world.

Executive Vice President. In charge of SustainabilityYuji Sasaki
NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS adopted this new name last July. As we advance to a new stage as a company, our role in solving societal challenges has grown significantly. Under our corporate philosophy of “Creating communication that unlocks the potential of people and the world,” just as “hamachi becomes buri and hisha becomes ryuoh” in our TV commercial, we will collaborate with our business partners to tackle challenges from local communities to the global stage.

The Sustainability Conference is an excellent opportunity to share outstanding projects within the NTT Group on a global scale. It allows us to reconsider our role in the world and our responsibility to bridge the present with the future we should strive for. It’s a wonderful opportunity full of insights and inspiration.
Last year, NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS won the Grand Prize for “Morikachi” for the first time in eight years. This year, we have nominated 2 projects: a system that detects unreported road construction to help prevent gas pipe accidents efficiently, and an autonomous bus system designed to address route reductions caused by driver shortages.
Ensuring stable infrastructure and mobility is a major challenge for residents, regardless of whether they live in cities or rural areas. These projects aim to maintain regional sustainability by leveraging cutting-edge technology.
Let's advance digital transformation that surprises and inspires, and together create a sustainable and well-being future.

The NTT Urban Solutions Group leverages the NTT Group’s real estate assets, ICT, and energy and environmental technologies to address a wide range of local community challenges through urban development projects.
In fiscal year 2025, the NTT Urban Solutions Group began implementing off-site PPAs at facilities such as Shinagawa Season Terrace, WITH HARAJUKU, and Urbannet Nagoya Building, contributing to the realization of a decarbonized society. In addition, to support the conservation and restoration of biodiversity, the Group formulated the “NTT Urban Solutions Group Biodiversity Policy,” further advancing its efforts toward a sustainable society.
This fiscal year, two projects from the NTT Urban Solutions Group have been nominated. The first project, “Sustainable Urban Development Utilizing CRE in Miyazaki City,” promotes the creation of new vibrancy in Miyazaki City through the renovation of former telephone exchange buildings, which are valuable assets of the NTT Group.
The second project, “Promoting the installation of Energy-Efficient Buildings through NEBs Assessment,” aims to accelerate the wider adoption of energy-efficient buildings by visualizing their secondary benefits—such as improved health and enhanced intellectual productivity—beyond energy cost reductions, thereby providing new insights to support investment decision-making.
Moving forward, the NTT Urban Solutions Group will continue to value its connections with all stakeholders involved in urban development and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
