I'm very honored to receive such a wonderful and prestigious award. NTT DATA Social Design Promotion Team and NTT DATA Life Design Team as a whole are very pleased to receive this award.
Working carers are trying to balance their careers and nursing care responsibilities. We are trying to provide a good environment for them, which should be a sustainable effort and should become the norm for society as well as for companies. With that goal in mind, we started this project, and it is still in its early stage. However, we are receiving a lot of useful input to further improve and advance our project. Our initial goal is to achieve zero employees leaving their jobs because of nursing care within NTT Group. I hope you will continue to support Care la Care.
It was a very passionate presentation, and this is a very familiar issue to me, so I was very interested as I listened to your presentation.
Some of the presentations today were related to population issues. While the labor force supply is facing shortages and the total population is declining, the 80-and-over age bracket continues to increase. That is the reality of Japan.
NTT DATA Italy
This is truly an honor to receive this award. And thank you to the organizers of the Sustainability Conference.
You gave us the opportunity to share ideas and projects regarding sustainability innovation. Today, we had the opportunity to showcase what we have done so far and what we want to achieve in the future. We hope we can collaborate because we truly believe that by working together, we can support the development of smarter and more sustainable cities for the next generation.
First of all, I would like to sincerely express my appreciation for all the hard work you have done so far. Your presentation was very impressive. I think this project brings together all of our expertise and the latest NTT's technologies, such as digital-driven approaches and Digital Twin with AI. This application has tremendous potential.
NTT Techno Cross
Thank you very much for this wonderful and honorable award.
As Nakayama Vice President said, cattle are found across the world. Therefore, we have the opportunity to cover the entire global market with this technology. I hope the group members will support us in cultivating the global market.
I think this is such a good project that is at the heart of our business. As Mr. Hiroi and Mr. Hoshino mentioned earlier, resolving social issues is a key point, and this could be a growth driver for the group.
NTT DATA IBIOL
Arigatougozaimasu. We are very proud to receive this award.
We have been working on accessibility for more than 20 years, and this is a recognition of that effort for everyone who has supported accessibility. This is a very groundbreaking moment, and it is a commitment for all of us to include everyone in the technological movement that we are part of.
What impressed me most was your people-centered approach. As someone who is over 60 myself, I found it to be a very powerful message. I was also very impressed by your perspective of not regarding inclusion as a cost or a risk.
NTT DOCOMO
Thank you very much. It's a great honor to receive such a wonderful award.
In the agriculture area, we introduced AI technology and robotics technology, but we were not able to solve all the problems on our own. We needed support from various partners inside and outside our group. So, I would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere gratitude to those partners and supporters.
Thank you for the presentation. My paternal family used to farm, but the business ended in my grandfather's generation. This makes me keenly aware that abandoned farmland is a very serious issue.
NTT Anode Energy
Thank you very much for this highly prestigious award. Just a year ago, I wore this uniform and went to the Yume Shima site, where we carried out our work. Our mission had two objectives.
NTT DATA Information Processing Services
Thank you very much for this award, for this honor. This is our second consecutive year winning Nature Positive Award. I'm very grateful to NTT for organizing this event and for recognizing our work.

We are very honored to receive such a prestigious award.
Shiwa Town's project, along with many other projects, has shown that there are still many untapped resources. Our hope is to help develop a circular and sustainable society.

Let me very briefly thank the jury for awarding this prize. It is truly a great honor to receive it.
I would also like to thank Corporate Sustainability and Public Sector and Health in IBIOL for investing in this project and for giving me the opportunity to lead this project.

Congratulations to all the winners of Special Award. Thank you again for your wonderful initiatives and presentations.
At the beginning, we heard about the importance of sustainability, globalization, and placing sustainability at the core of management. Today's presentations clearly demonstrated that these goals are becoming a reality.
No matter how hard we try to build a sustainable society, we cannot achieve it through determination and effort alone. We also need to incorporate new technologies and new mechanisms, and we need all of those to transform society. But through the presentations I also realized that there is something even more important.
It takes passion, courage, and a willingness to take on challenges together with our colleagues. Only then can we truly achieve sustainability.
I believe that hosting a conference like this will inspire not only those of you here today, but also those watching online, to think, "Maybe I should give this a try," or "Maybe I should listen more closely to the voices of those around me."
NTT Group is globalizing, and we work with many fellow workers, and I see this is significant meaning because we can achieve many things.
Also, I was reminded that this is exactly the kind of company we want to continue to be—for both our current employees and those who will join us in the future.
So once again, thank you very much for these wonderful presentations. I would like to conclude my remarks by offering my sincere congratulations to the winners.

All winners of this year's The Grand Award submitted solutions that have commercial potential and contribute to solving social issues. There were 161 entries from several countries, and five initiatives were selected.
We are truly in the age of AI, and I believe that determining how to use it in a user-friendly way will become increasingly important. Looking back at this year's presentations, many initiatives, including those that received Special Award, leveraged AI and data. However, AI and data are merely tools, and their focus ultimately lies on people. Numerous solutions have been proposed that use AI and data to solve people's problems and improve their lives.
Last summer, NTT formulated "NTT Group's Core." The English version aligns with the mid-term strategy.
"Innovating a Sustainable Future for People and Planet."
The initiatives presented today align with the spirit of NTT Group's Core.
For the people and for the planet, we need to strive to create a sustainable future. How we can create that as NTT Group is highly relevant.
Through our services and products, we deliver value to society and generate profits that we reinvest to create additional value. By continuing this virtuous cycle, we help build a more prosperous society and a sustainable planet.
The Big Bang occurred 13.8 billion years ago; the Earth is 4.6 billion years old; and humanity has existed for only about 300,000 to 400,000 years. We must continue building a sustainable society and have a responsibility to leave a livable and thriving planet for future generations—our children, grandchildren, and those who follow.
If environmental degradation continues, humanity may one day be forced to consider living on other planets. However, that is a future we must avoid. There is only so much that NTT Group can do. Even so, we continue to play a role in creating and maintaining an environment where people can continue to live on Earth for generations to come.
I am very much looking forward to seeing all of you again next year.

Medical professionals and nursing caregivers are still in short supply, and I think this situation will continue going forward. It is a major challenge for people to continue their careers while also providing nursing care at home. Addressing this issue is a very important endeavor. Looking at the reality of society and thinking about a systematic way to provide care is very important, and that was included in your presentation. I was also impressed by the fact that this has been established as a business model. You need to sustain your efforts as a business, and having such a model is very powerful.
When I came across this project on another occasion, I really felt that this could be a very serious issue for NTT WEST as well. So, we surveyed 38,000 employees through Care la Care service. As a result, nearly 20% of our employees were already working carers, and including potential working carers, more than 50% of employees were facing the issue of balancing their careers and caregiving.
I regard this as a major management issue, especially because middle managers are often affected and may suddenly have to leave the workplace due to caregiving responsibilities. Therefore, it is an issue that needs to be addressed by management.
There is public support in terms of nursing care, but beyond that, much depends on personal efforts. Corporate services can help fill those gaps. I think it is very valuable that you have taken this approach to providing corporate services. As a result, this service can contribute not only to improved productivity but also to employee retention.
Balancing careers and caregiving through both corporate and personal support is something that NTT Group needs to address. NTT West will continue to support this effort.
Thank you so much, I'm so moved and I'm quite speechless.
First of all, there are many people involved in this project, not only the ones who are here today. All the members of this project, our partners, and also more than 100 working carers who provided us with valuable advice. To all those who supported this project, I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude.
In my presentation, I mentioned that support for balancing career and nursing care is not something prioritized by businesses because they do not really hear the voices of working carers.
I am one of those working carers, and many of them are middle managers over 40 years old who have a strong sense of responsibility to lead their workplaces. That is why, because of that sense of responsibility, they cannot easily raise their voices as working carers.
As Mr. Kigami mentioned earlier, we should not try to solve everything on our own. It is something that needs to be shared by everyone as common sense. So, I hope NTT Group can utilize Care la Care to achieve the goal of zero turnover due to nursing care. Hopefully, through Care la Care, we can create a new social norm.

I believe it is helpful not only for making cities more visible and easier to understand, but also for managing and optimizing them effectively. Like Italy, Japan is facing challenges such as population decline, a low birth rate, and an aging society. Therefore, I hope this Digital Twin will help promote urban development and regional revitalization that supports the well-being of people and the health of our planet.
This is truly an incredible situation.
It's amazing. I don't have enough words to describe my emotions at this moment. We and our company are very proud of this. And as I said before, we hope to collaborate much more in the coming days and in the coming years.
So let me take this opportunity to thank all the Italian teams that worked on Urban Planning (Territory Digital Twin) with passion and commitment. So again, thank you so much.
NTT Techno Cross
Thank you very much for this wonderful and honorable award.
As Nakayama Vice President said, cattle are found across the world. Therefore, we have the opportunity to cover the entire global market with this technology. I hope the group members will support us in cultivating the global market.
I'm really delighted to receive such a wonderful award in the livestock industry. Because of uncertainties in the geopolitical situation, I think the livestock industry is facing uncertainties as well.
I hope lots of people will get involved in livestock farming, and I hope our service will help the livestock industry thrive.
I think this is such a good project that is at the heart of our business. As Mr. Hiroi and Mr. Hoshino mentioned earlier, resolving social issues is a key point, and this could be a growth driver for the group.
Our Approach to Sustainability Challenges are frontier problems that need to be solved, offering significant room for growth with less competition. NTT DATA Group and NTT Techno Cross already have many opportunities to collaborate, and we would like to deepen our collaboration in even more areas going forward.
For example, ForeSight Voice Mining, an AI product for call centers developed by NTT Techno Cross based on research technologies, is already being deployed by NTT DATA Group to customers in the United States.
You mentioned that Denmark could be a potential destination in terms of globalization. I did a little research and found that Japan has about 4 million cattle, or roughly one cow for every 30 people. Worldwide, there are about 1.6 billion cattle, or roughly one for every five people, so there must be many cattle in need of help.
Upon further research, I found that Brazil is the country with the largest cattle population in the world, with approximately 300 million head. Miguel, the head of IBIOL, who oversees our business in Brazil and other regions, is also with us here today. Honestly, I lived for a year in high school in a region where there were more cows than people, so I think I understand cows a little bit. Hopefully this project can be deployed to the global market and scaled up, and if there were an opportunity, NTT DATA Group would also like to work together.
NTT DATA IBIOL

What impressed me most was your people-centered approach. As someone who is over 60 myself, I found it to be a very powerful message. I was also very impressed by your perspective of not regarding inclusion as a cost or a risk.
I found the idea that inclusion is not a burden, but the business itself, very impressive.
And the reason I highly appreciate your project is not only that it will contribute to improving the brand image of NTT's integrity, but also that it can be a good trigger to expand NTT's client base by providing an attractive solution to potential clients who place a priority on inclusion and diversity.
I hope this project will not be limited to accessibility solutions, but rather will be built into the overall solution platform of NTT Group. The challenges faced by people with disabilities and elderly people are not only challenges in the IBIOL area. Especially in Japan, as well as in other developed countries, we are entering a very aged society. Therefore, the demand for this solution will become even greater. For this reason, I hope to expand this idea not only to the IBIOL area, but also to global service solutions.
Thank you very much for this wonderful award. Going forward, we will continue to focus on farmers and develop technologies and solutions for them.
Thank you for the presentation. My paternal family used to farm, but the business ended in my grandfather's generation. This makes me keenly aware that abandoned farmland is a very serious issue.
Currently, abandoned farmland is increasing across Japan. We are trying to install solar power facilities on those abandoned farmlands, but that is not a simple matter. Farmland should primarily be used to revive and sustain agricultural activities. But farming is very demanding work with almost no holidays. Therefore, I think using AI is a wonderful idea to reduce the burden on farmers and I am also impressed that you have been working on this for ten years.
Food security is a very significant topic, and food self-sufficiency is a national challenge in Japan. Therefore, I truly hope that you will continue to pursue this project.
While accumulating more data, you will discover the wider the application areas and regions where it can be deployed with this solution. I sincerely hope you continue to do your best.
Finally, you mentioned the challenge of fighting weeds. Our mega-solar projects are also constantly dealing with weeds. It would be very useful to have a small AI-equipped weeding machine that could be used in our facilities as well. Perhaps we could seek your expertise and support in that area.
NTT Anode Energy
Thank you very much for this highly prestigious award. Just a year ago, I wore this uniform and went to the Yume Shima site, where we carried out our work. Our mission had two objectives.
The first was to operate hydrogen facilities safely and according to plan. The second was to help the many people at the venue understand what energy in the future society could look like. One highlight was that NTT Group companies, led by me and our executives, actually promoted hydrogen technology on site. I still remember that scene vividly.
Thanks to this opportunity, our projects have become more widely recognized, and we have received expectations from many different areas. We will continue to advance our technologies and businesses.
NTT DATA Information Processing Services
Thank you very much for this award, for this honor. This is our second consecutive year winning Nature Positive Award. I'm very grateful to NTT for organizing this event and for recognizing our work.
This award has been a great encouragement to all of us, and we will continue to do even more for society and environmental conservation.

As we see more uncertainty in the world, our mission, including generating power from waste, has great meaning. Together with NTT Group companies and NTT associates, our goal is to create a sustainable future.

I would also like to thank Corporate Sustainability and Public Sector and Health in IBIOL for investing in this project and for giving me the opportunity to lead this project. I'm really delighted to hold 13th Sustainability Conference. More than 160 entries have been made from different regions, and various initiatives will be covered today. This is my fourth time delivering remarks, and I would like to look back on what I have said in the past regarding the CSR Conference.
First, this is more than a dozen for NTT, and I think I have said that it has been going on for many years. CSR and sustainability are very important in terms of NTT culture.
Second, our CSR and sustainability initiatives are not limited to domestic society, and we would like to expand them beyond borders.
Third, we tend to think of sustainability efforts as a social contribution, but we would like to set them at the heart of our management strategy and improve our performance as a company.
Sustainability has met with some headwinds recently. However, as I said last year NTT will continue to be strongly committed to sustainability.
This year, what I have shared in the past has been embedded in you and reflected in your day-to-day activities, and our sustainability efforts have developed as a result. For that, I would like to express my gratitude and sincere appreciation for all your efforts related to sustainability.
Today, we will be introducing a variety of initiatives. We will also be introducing a new initiative called "Nature Positive."
With that, I would like to conclude my remarks, and I hope our sustainability activities will continue to go from strength to strength.
