NTT Corporation

First to be selected as one of the World Benchmarking Alliance's top 10 digital companies

On December 1, 2020, NTT Corporation (NTT) was selected for the first time as one of the top 10 of 100 companies in the digital field of the World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA), a representative NGO in promoting sustainable development goals (SDGs), out of companies in Japan and overseas. (8th in the world and 2nd in Asia)

The WBA was established in 2018 by the United Nations Foundation, the British insurance company Aviva and the Dutch NGO Index Initiative. Starting this fiscal year, the WBA will evaluate the progress of achieving the SDGs, and plan to develop benchmark indicators to evaluate the performance of the SDGs by 2023.

Of the 7 WBA areas "Digital Inclusion", "Society", "Agriculture and Food", "Decarbonization and Energy", "Circulation", "City", and "Financial Systems", NTT received high marks in the subject area of "Digital Inclusion". This fiscal year, the first year of the program, the number of companies evaluated as "Digital Inclusion" is 100, and by 2023, the WBA will expand it to 200 companies.

The NTT Group will continue to contribute to "Achieving a Sustainable Society by Resolving Social Issues through Business Activities" and strive to achieve the SDGs, guided by the NTT Group CSR Charter.
