Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) instituted the NTT Investment Partners Fund, L.P. in March 2008 with 15 billion yen under its management and the NTT Investment Partners Fund II, L.P. in January 2014 with 10 billion yen under its supervision. These capital reserves were generated to support venture companies in which the corporation had invested, to expand the businesses of both the NTT group and such venture companies, and to create new services for them. NTT will establish the NTT Investment Partners Fund Ⅲ (NIP Fund Ⅲ) to promote the continuous reinforcement of its cooperation with venture companies.
The new fund is being established to aid the expansion of NTT Group's global and B2B2X businesses to accelerate innovation and collaboration with regard to its services and technologies through investments in venture companies with promising technologies and know-how that would contribute to the strengthening of research and development, and promotion of B2B2X businesses in cutting-edge areas such as AI, security and robotics.
By launching this fund, NTT will support the NTT Group's initiative as a value partner that supports its clients in their efforts to reform their business models and facilitate the creation of prosperous lifestyles.
