Researchers at Secure Platform Laboratories of Service Innovation Laboratory Group, Takuya Watanabe, Eitaro Shioji, and Mitsuaki Akiyama, received the Distinguished Paper Award at NDSS (Network and Distributed System Security Symposium) 2020, an international academic conference organized by ISOC.
Their paper, "Melting Pot of Origins: Compromising the Intermediary Web Services that Rehost Websites" discusses a novel security threat they discovered in a wide range of web services satisfying certain conditions. NDSS is one of the top-tier academic conferences in the security area, and the award was given to the most outstanding paper out of the 88 accepted (acceptance rate 17.4%).
NTT Secure Platform Laboratories will continue to promote the safe and secure use of the Internet through R&D activities.
