Mitsuaki Akiyama received the Cybersecurity Encouragement Awards of the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications

Mitsuaki Akiyama (senior distinguished researcher) at NTT Secure Platform Laboratories of Service Innovation Laboratory Group received the Cybersecurity Encouragement Awards of the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications in 2020. This award is given to individuals and organizations that have made outstanding achievements at the forefront of cybersecurity.

Awarded achievements

• Contribution to the research and development of cybersecurity
  He has been engaged in research and development of cyber attack countermeasures (e.g., honeypot, web security, malware analysis) for many years and contributed to ensure cybersecurity in Japan.
• Leading activities of research ethics in cybersecurity
  In Japan, he raised an issue about research ethics in cybersecurity and has been working as a committee member of the workshop and the secretariat of the working group to promote the ethical research process in cybersecurity research.

NTT Secure Platform Laboratories will continue to promote the safe and secure use of the Internet through R&D activities.
