NTT Joins the Ultra Ethernet Consortium (UEC) to Help Develop High-Speed, High-Capacity Ethernet Standards for AI and HPC

NTT has joined the Ultra Ethernet Consortium (UEC)Open other window, an organization developing high-speed, high-capacity Ethernet specifications required for AI and HPC*1.

Established under the Linux Foundation*2, the UEC brings together a wide range of companies involved in computer and networking, as well as telecommunications carriers. The consortium is working to develop an open network architectures for AI and HPC that must meet a variety of requirements, including high speed, high capacity, and low latency, by leveraging Ethernet. While the IEEE802.3 standard defines the core Ethernet specifications, the UEC is examining additional functions and extensions specifically designed for AI and HPC.

Through our participation in the UEC and contributions to standard specifications, the NTT Group will continue creating new added value for IOWN and contributing to the advancement of next-generation communications infrastructure.
