NTT Group Hosts Inaugural "Partnership Day" in Singapore
~Aiming to Accelerate New Business Creation Through Startup Matchmaking with Strategic Partners~

News Highlights:

  1. NTT Group hosted its first "Partnership Day" in Singapore on September 12, 2025as part of the "NTT Startup Challenge", the overseas startup collaboration program launched in 2024.
  2. Unlike the open-call Pitch Day (scheduled for November 11, 2025, in Jakarta, Indonesia), Partnership Day focused on startups recommended by venture capital firms and other strategic partners, selected for their ability to solve business challenges presented by NTT Group companies.
  3. In response to 13 challenge statements presented by 9 NTT Group companies across 10 sectors, including Agritech, Drones, Smart Cities, Data Centers, AdTech, Digital Entertainment, Healthcare, Finance & Marketing, Digital Twin, and GTM, a total of 146 startups were recommended by our partners, and building on the discussions during Partnership Day, NTT will continue to promote future collaborations with these startups.

NTT, Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Member of the Board and President: Akira Shimada; hereinafter "NTT") today announced that it successfully hosted the inaugural "Partnership Day" in Singapore on September 12, 2025. This new program, introduced as part of the 'NTT Startup Challenge'1, complements the open-call Pitch Day by focusing on later-stage startups recommended by NTT Group's 15 strategic partners2. Participating startups were selected for their potential to address specific business challenges identified by NTT Group companies. In response to 13 challenge statements presented by 9 NTT Group companies across 10 sectors, including Agritech, Drones, Smart Cities, Data Centers, AdTech, Digital Entertainment, Healthcare, Finance & Marketing, Digital Twin, and GTM, a total of 146 startups were recommended by our partners. The collaboration discussions at Partnership Day will serve as a catalyst for advancing future partnerships.

Through this program, the NTT Group will accelerate collaboration with overseas startup ecosystems, particularly in Asia, and the creation of new businesses.

1. Background:

NTT Group launched the "NTT Startup Challenge" in 2024 as its first group-wide initiative for overseas startup collaboration. Through the Pitch Contest, the program has attracted early-stage startups from across Southeast Asia and facilitated new business initiatives. The newly introduced Partnership Day builds on this foundation by seeking faster, more tangible solutions. In cooperation with government-affiliated and independent venture capital firms and other partners, NTT Group connects directly with mid-stage startups capable of solving business challenges defined by NTT Group companies, particularly in Southeast Asia.

2. NTT Startup Challenge Program Details:

(1) Overview:

The program aims to create new business ventures through collaboration with the international startup ecosystem.

(2) Activities:

The NTT Global Business Division, serving as the organizer of this program, leads the implementation of the following activities.

  • Advisory programs with prominent Southeast Asian VCs
  • Hosting the "Partnership Day", a business matching program aimed at fostering new business creation between NTT Group and growth-stage startups, local companies, and government agencies
  • Hosting the "Pitch Day", an open-call pitch contest inviting startups from all sectors and growth stages

(3) Role of NTT Group Companies:

NTT: Program planning and management.
NTT Group Companies: Promoting collaboration and new business development with startups by leveraging our focus areas and the assets we provide.

3. About NTT Startup Challenge "Partnership Day":

(1) Overview:

A partner-recommended startup collaboration program designed to accelerate new venture creation through targeted matchmaking.

(2) Program Details:

The NTT Global Business Division, serving as the organizer of this program, led the following activities:

  1. 13 challenge statements were presented by 9 NTT Group companies across 10 sectors, including Agritech, Drones, Smart Cities, Data Centers, AdTech, Digital Entertainment, Healthcare, Finance & Marketing, Digital Twin, and GTM for creating new businesses in Southeast Asia to 15 partner companies (Reverse Pitch) (July 9, 2025)
  2. The 15 partner companies recommended 146 startups capable of solving the challenges of NTT Group companies, primarily from their own portfolios (by end of August 2025)
  3. Held a Partnership Day in Singapore, conducting business meetings (power matching) between the recommended startups and NTT Group companies (September 12, 2025)

4. Future development:

Participating in NTT Group companies will pursue collaboration opportunities identified at Partnership Day with the goal of creating new businesses in Southeast Asia. For startups seeking expansion into Japan, NTT Group companies also stand ready to provide support. Looking ahead, NTT Group will further expand the scope of the Startup Challenge across Asia and other global regions.
