Selected as a Ministry of the Environment Decarbonization Pioneer Region through a joint proposal with Shiwa Town, Iwate Prefecture, and others. By utilizing the region's unused resources (such as food waste) to generate renewable energy, the project aims to achieve carbon neutrality within the area. Furthermore, by utilizing the digestate produced from biogas power generation as fertilizer, it seeks to establish a new local resource cycle and curb the abandonment of farming and the idling of farmland. A regional public corporation will be established through joint investment by the municipality, financial institutions, and the NTT Group. This public-private partnership will advance decarbonization community development projects, aiming to become a model case domestically.
