In Shibukawa, Gunma Prefecture, NTT EAST used a closed elementary school as its site for launching the operation of a woody-biomass combined heat and power generator (which took advantage of unused wood) and utilized the excess heat energy for mushroom-bed cultivation and dried-food manufacturing. NTT EAST is establishing a greenhouse horticulture system that does not use fossil fuels.
Dams play an important role in terms of shifting to renewable energy by generating clean hydroelectric power while conserving ecosystems. NTT DATA Portugal has developed an AI-driven computer vision model for automatically analyzing dam-camera video footage as well as identifying and classifying fish and driftwood, thereby increasing the efficiency of biodiversity monitoring.

In addition, in response to demand-adjustment requests from power companies, the company uses its energy management system (EMS) platform to control the charging and discharging of its storage batteries based on its optimal charging and discharging plan, thereby achieving DR. By implementing DR, Docomo contributes to both the reduction of demand when there are power shortages as well as the creation of demand when controlling renewable energy output.
NTT DATA Information Processing Services has established a cloud-based system for managing important information in real time. The company has introduced its HAWK system in two Indian states and uses it to address the worldwide problem of illegal wildlife trading, which is a threat to the protection of wildlife. By monitoring forest crime and integrating data related to the death of wildlife and criminal activities, the company is able to take the initiative against criminal organizations targeting high-value wildlife products.
